MICHELLE LADD is a Certified Teacher of stage combat with the Society of American Fight Directors and a stunt performer with the United Stuntmen's Association. Michelle has been working as a professional performer and choreographer of acting, dance, and stage combat for over 10 years. With 20 years of experience in theatre and movement, she has traveled around North America, Britain, and Asia studying her craft and teaching stage combat and movement. Her work has earned her honors and recognition in stage combat, acting, and dance. Recent credits include fight direction at Drury Lane Theatre in Chicago, Illinois; guest dance performer with Demetrius Klein Dance, Inc.; stunt double work on the television show Legacy; and featured artist for an article in Korea's Theatre magazine. Michelle received her M.F.A. in Acting from the University of Alabama. Her performances as Ruth in Blithe Spirit; Quisa in Six Degrees of Separation, and Annie in Miracle Worker helped her earn the honor of Outstanding Graduate Performer two years in a row. She went on to study at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Michelle stays involved in Creative Dramatics workshops for elementary through high school students instructing them in basic special effects techniques in order to expose them to the safety behind the violence of theatrical combat.
